Construction On 900-Home Beverley Development Begins

Construction of a huge residential development in East Yorkshire is now underway, which will result in 900 new homes when complete.

Linden Homes has announced the first phase of its new South Minster Pastures project has begun, with workers now busy building the first 34 properties.

The mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses in Beverley South are expected to be ready as soon as the beginning of 2020.

A spokesperson for the housing developer said: “The deal on the 90-acre site – which has a development value of around £180 million – was completed earlier this year, making it the largest acquisition in Linden Homes East Yorkshire’s history.”

In addition to providing 900 new properties, the development site will offer employment space, open areas, and a £5 million Park and Ride scheme for the town. This 500-space car park will be part of the second phase of the project.

There will also be new public open spaces that offer recreational benefits for residents, while the housebuilder will designate areas for potential surface water run-off. This will help add biodiversity to the site and provide attractive landscaping.

Linden Homes will certainly be making the use of scaffolders in York and the local areas, as it also recently announced a 96-home development four miles from Scarborough.

The Tara Fields site will be situated in East Ayton and offer a variety of three, four and five-bedroom properties, with the first of these due to be completed in January 2020.
